Bill Supino

Percussion

Bill Supino is a professional drummer based out of The Villages, FL. He has been playing drums and percussion since the age of sixteen.  His first teacher was Manuel Wise of Danvers, Massachusetts.  Manny (Manuel) gave Bill drum lessons after school for five years. Under Manny’s tutelage, Bill learned how to read music, developed sticking on the snare drum and acquired other basic drumset techniques. Bill was so committed to having a proper grip, he would tape his hands to his drumsticks at night so they would form to the sticks as he slept.

Subsequent instructors were Peter Moutis, Keith Copeland and Adam Nussbaum.

Bill’s attraction to music wasn’t unexpected, considering that his grandmother and grandfather were both professional classical musicians, playing the cello and the violin, respectively. Bill had spent hours listening to them play quartets, and even accompanied his grandfather on the piano.

Bill started play in High School when a friend played side A of Led Zeppelin’s “Houses of the Holy”.   John Bonham mesmerized Bill with his larger-than-life sound.  Bill’s parents bought him a drumset and his musical journey began.

He has been playing professionally since the age of eighteen in a succession of original and cover bands varying in styles.

Over the years Bill has performed with a band called Phase IV , that he formed with his cousin. Renegades: A Country band based out of the Villages, FL, Soul Mate: A Motown, Soul and R&B band from New England,  Little Diva: A Top 40s, alternative rock, high tech band playing covers on the club scene of greater Manchester and Concord, NH, and Men From Marcus.  Billd was the house drummer at The Blue Mermaid, a trendy spot located in the heart of Portsmouth, NH.
